Measure real server response latency across all network stages: DNS resolution, TCP handshake, TLS negotiation, Time to First Byte (TTFB), payload compression, and Cache-Control headers.
TTFB is the duration from when a browser sends an HTTP request to when it receives the first byte of response data from your web server.
Google's Web Vitals guidance treats 800ms or lower as good. TestHive's check is more lenient: it flags TTFB above 1800ms as a Medium finding and above 3500ms as High.
TestHive Performance provides native network socket timing, server response latency, payload compression, and header checks, distinct from browser-rendered Lighthouse lab scores.
